Dan is a New Hampshire artist who is mostly self taught. He painted his first landscape watercolor at the age of 13. He worked with pencil, pen and ink, pastels and oils during his teens and early twenties, painting portraits, landscapes and figurative studies. With family now raised, he returned to his love of art after working for many years as a physicist and material scientist in microelectonic research and engineering management.

He has studied for several years with Dustan Knight and with Stan Moeller at the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester, NH and with Dewitt Hardy at Sanctuary Arts in Maine. He also has recently studied portrait painting with Sue Zylak in Manchester NH.

Dan is most happy painting children's portraits, catching them in a happy moment alone or with family members. He also enjoys painting seascapes, adult portraits, family groups, and full figure studies.
